ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

Understanding Our Own Existence

The Center for Consciousness Studies at the University of Arizona was established in 1998 with a seed grant from the Fetzer Institute, with a unique mission to integrate perspectives from philosophy, cognitive sciences, neuroscience, social sciences, medicine, physical sciences, and the arts and humanities.

Engaging in innovative research, the Center for Consciousness, which is housed in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, focuses on research of human consciousness, including studies on mindfulness and the quantum theory of consciousness. Beyond its research initiatives, the Center hosts conferences, serving as crucial platforms for scholars to exchange ideas and advance consciousness studies, contributing to the discourse on the interworking of consciousness and the human experience.
